Michael D’Antuono, Vice President of NCA’s Capital Improvement Programs Division, delivered a seminar explaining the mission of the NCA, the importance of NCA’s role in the California construction industry, and outlining over $74 Billion in upcoming construction projects in Southern California alone. The NCA also sponsored a booth in the trade show adjacent to the California LECET team. “I spoke to dozens of attendees who were most interested in learning about the NCA and what we can do for them”, says John Krikorian, Director of Special Projects. “Participating in local and regional programs such as the WCCC are an effective way to communicate our message”, says Krikorian.
According to the WCCC, California’s population is projected to grow from 33 million to 45 million people over the next 20 years. They project in the next decade alone, over $100 Billion will be spent on infrastructure. California is already the world’s sixth largest economy and the State gross product (GSP) is about $1.62 Trillion, representing approximately 13% of the total US gross domestic product (GDP).
The WCCC was founded in 1972 and serves as a forum for owners and consumers and construction service providers involved with commercial, institutional and industrial construction to discuss issues common to the design and construction industry. Their mission is to provide resources and support to assist their membership in professional development, improved operations and maintenance, safety and cost-effective construction. A significant portion of the construction work represented by the WCCC members is performed by organized labor.
